Utilities decommissioning win for KDC Contractors

Decommissioning, demolition and remediation specialist, KDC has won a £3M contract from one of Britain's biggest gas pipeline companies. Wales & West Utilities (WWU) has awarded KDC the contract to decommission and demolish 12 gas holders in the South West and Wales. The project is set to be completed in December 2012. KDC specialists will manage and deliver the contract. WWU is a regulated gas transportation business with a network of more than 35,000km of mains covering a sixth of the UK and serving a population of more than 7 million people. KDC won the contract following a competitive tender process. WWU’s decision was based on scheduling, methodology, commercial considerations and health and safety management.
