Countdown to Bath Christmas Market begins

Celebrating its 11th anniversary, Bath Christmas Market will begin on Thursday 24 November, continuing through to Sunday 11 December. Organisers of the event, Bath Tourism Plus, are expecting the market to be another success, encouraging thousands of visitors to the city as well as spend in the local economy. There will be over 130 stalls selling unique, handmade and locally sourced products as well as catering stalls selling warming food and drink. Encouraging approximately 300,000 visitors to the city each year, Bath Christmas Market is the premier Christmas shopping event in the South West. Not only do those 300,000 visitors bring festive cheer to the stallholders but businesses in the whole of the city benefit from the unique event. The last independent survey carried out at Bath Christmas Market showed that the average spend per person on goods bought at the market was around £20, while an average of £40 was spent outside of the market in other businesses (excluding accommodation and travel).
